Levoflox 500 Infusion contains Levofloxacin 500 mg, a broad-spectrum fluoroquinolone antibiotic indicated for the treatment of various bacterial infections. It exhibits potent bactericidal activity by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, essential enzymes for DNA replication, transcription, repair, and recombination. Levoflox 500 Infusion is primarily used in the management of respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and certain types of intra-abdominal infections caused by susceptible strains of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. The intravenous formulation allows for rapid systemic absorption and is particularly useful in patients who are unable to take oral medications or require high plasma concentrations. Dosage and duration of therapy should be tailored according to the severity and type of infection, renal function, and patient response.
