Levocare 750 Tablet contains Levofloxacin 750 mg, a broad-spectrum fluoroquinolone antibiotic effective against a wide range of bacterial infections. It acts by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, enzymes essential for DNA replication, transcription, repair, and recombination, thereby preventing bacterial cell division and growth. Levocare 750 is indicated for the treatment of various infections including respiratory tract infections such as community-acquired pneumonia, chronic bronchitis exacerbations, and sinusitis; urinary tract infections including complicated and uncomplicated cases; skin and soft tissue infections; and certain types of prostatitis. It is also used in the management of anthrax exposure and plague. The tablet should be administered orally, preferably on an empty stomach for optimal absorption, with the dosage and duration determined by the severity and type of infection. Caution is advised in patients with a history of tendon disorders related to fluoroquinolone use, renal impairment, or CNS disorders. Common adverse effects include gastrointestinal disturbances, headache, dizziness, and potential photosensitivity. Serious but rare side effects may involve tendon rupture, peripheral neuropathy, and QT prolongation.
