Cefpirome (1000mg) + Sulbactam (500mg)
Active composition
+1 more active ingredient
Cefpirome disrupts the synthesis of the bacterial cell wall, leading to bacterial lysis and death.
Sulbactam irreversibly binds to beta-lactamase enzymes, preventing them from inactivating beta-lactam antibiotics.
Medical applications
Lesrom-S Injection is a potent antimicrobial formulation combining Cefpirome, a fourth-generation cephalosporin antibiotic at 1000 mg, with Sulbactam, a beta-lactamase inhibitor at 500 mg. This synergistic combination enhances the spectrum of activity against a broad range of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, including beta-lactamase producing strains. Cefpirome exerts its bactericidal effect by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to cell lysis and death, while Sulbactam protects Cefpirome from enzymatic degradation by beta-lactamase enzymes, thereby extending its efficacy. Lesrom-S Injection is indicated for the treatment of severe infections such as respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, intra-abdominal infections, skin and soft tissue infections, septicemia, and bone and joint infections caused by susceptible microorganisms. It is administered intravenously or intramuscularly under medical supervision, with dosage tailored according to the severity of infection, patient condition, and renal function. Caution is advised in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to cephalosporins or penicillins. Adverse effects may include allergic reactions, gastrointestinal disturbances, and local injection site reactions. Lesrom-S Injection should be used judiciously to prevent the development of antibiotic resistance.
