Lenalidomide (25mg)
Active composition
Lenalidomide modulates the immune system by enhancing T-cell and natural killer cell activity and inhibiting tumor cell proliferation.
Medical applications
Laviat 25 Capsule contains Lenalidomide 25 mg, an immunomodulatory agent used primarily in the treatment of multiple myeloma, myelodysplastic syndromes, and mantle cell lymphoma. Lenalidomide exerts its therapeutic effects by modulating the immune system, inhibiting angiogenesis, and inducing apoptosis in malignant cells. It is indicated for patients with multiple myeloma who have received at least one prior therapy, as well as for certain subtypes of myelodysplastic syndromes associated with deletion 5q chromosomal abnormalities. The capsule should be administered orally, once daily, with or without food, as prescribed by a healthcare professional. Dosage adjustments may be necessary based on renal function and hematologic parameters. Common adverse effects include neutropenia, thrombocytopenia, anemia, fatigue, and gastrointestinal disturbances. Due to the teratogenic potential of Lenalidomide, strict pregnancy prevention measures must be adhered to, including the use of effective contraception and regular pregnancy testing for women of childbearing potential. Patients should be monitored closely for signs of infection, blood cell counts, and thromboembolic events. Laviat 25 Capsule should be prescribed and dispensed under a controlled distribution program to minimize risks associated with its use.
