L-Cin OZ Suspension is a combination antibiotic formulation containing Levofloxacin 125 mg and Ornidazole 125 mg per 5 ml, designed for oral administration. Levofloxacin, a fluoroquinolone antibiotic, exhibits broad-spectrum bactericidal activity by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, essential enzymes for DNA replication, transcription, and repair. Ornidazole, a nitroimidazole derivative, is effective against anaerobic bacteria and protozoa, disrupting nucleic acid synthesis and leading to cell death. This synergistic combination is indicated for the treatment of mixed infections involving both aerobic and anaerobic pathogens, including respiratory tract infections, gastrointestinal infections, genitourinary infections, and skin and soft tissue infections. L-Cin OZ Suspension is particularly useful in cases where polymicrobial infections are suspected or confirmed. The suspension form facilitates accurate dosing and improved compliance, especially in pediatric and geriatric patients who may have difficulty swallowing tablets. Dosage should be individualized based on the severity of infection, patient age, renal function, and clinical response.
