Ketrav-DT Tablet contains Ketorolac 10 mg, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) indicated for the short-term management of moderate to severe pain. Ketorolac exerts its analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects by inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX-1 and COX-2) enzymes, thereby reducing the synthesis of prostaglandins responsible for pain, inflammation, and fever. Ketrav-DT is commonly prescribed postoperatively or for acute musculoskeletal pain where opioid alternatives are desired. The tablet formulation allows for convenient oral administration with rapid onset of action. It is important to use Ketrav-DT at the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration possible, generally not exceeding five days, to minimize the risk of adverse effects. Contraindications include hypersensitivity to ketorolac or other NSAIDs, active peptic ulcer disease, recent gastrointestinal bleeding, renal impairment, and use in the third trimester of pregnancy. Common adverse reactions may include gastrointestinal discomfort, nausea, dizziness, and headache. Serious but rare side effects include gastrointestinal bleeding, renal toxicity, and cardiovascular events. Patients should be advised to avoid concurrent use of other NSAIDs and to inform their healthcare provider of any history of bleeding disorders or cardiovascular disease prior to initiating therapy with Ketrav-DT.
