Ketovac Eye Drop contains Ketorolac 0.4% w/v, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) indicated for the relief of ocular inflammation and pain associated with conditions such as postoperative inflammation following cataract surgery, seasonal allergic conjunctivitis, and other inflammatory eye disorders. Ketorolac exerts its therapeutic effect by inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzymes (COX-1 and COX-2), thereby reducing the synthesis of prostaglandins, which are mediators of inflammation and pain. The topical ophthalmic formulation allows for targeted delivery to the affected tissues, minimizing systemic exposure and associated adverse effects. Ketovac Eye Drop is typically administered as one drop in the affected eye(s) four times daily, or as directed by a healthcare professional. It is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to ketorolac, other NSAIDs, or any component of the formulation. Caution is advised in patients with a history of bleeding disorders, corneal epithelial defects, or those using other topical ophthalmic medications.
