Ketostride-DT Tablet contains Ketorolac 10 mg, a potent nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) indicated for the short-term management of moderate to severe pain. Ketorolac exerts its therapeutic effects by inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX-1 and COX-2) enzymes, leading to decreased synthesis of prostaglandins, which are mediators of inflammation, pain, and fever. This tablet formulation is designed for rapid disintegration, facilitating swift onset of analgesic action. Ketostride-DT is commonly prescribed postoperatively or for acute musculoskeletal pain where opioid analgesics are not required or contraindicated. It is important to use Ketostride-DT at the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration possible, typically not exceeding five days, due to the increased risk of adverse effects such as gastrointestinal bleeding, renal impairment, and cardiovascular events. Contraindications include hypersensitivity to ketorolac or other NSAIDs, active peptic ulcer disease, recent gastrointestinal bleeding, severe renal or hepatic impairment, and patients at risk of bleeding. Caution is advised in elderly patients and those with a history of cardiovascular disease.
