Ketorol Injection

This injectable formulation is typically administered intramuscularly or intravenously, providing rapid onset of pain relief, making it suitable for postoperative pain or other acute painful conditions where opioid-sparing analgesia is desired. Ketorol Injection should be used at the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration, generally not exceeding five days, due to the increased risk of adverse effects such as gastrointestinal bleeding, renal impairment, and cardiovascular events associated with prolonged NSAID use.

It is contraindicated in patients with active peptic ulcer disease, recent gastrointestinal bleeding, advanced renal disease, or hypersensitivity to ketorolac or other NSAIDs. Caution is advised in patients with cardiovascular risk factors, bleeding disorders, or concomitant use of anticoagulants. Monitoring of renal function and signs of gastrointestinal toxicity is recommended during therapy.
