Ketoplast Plaster

Ketoprofen exerts its therapeutic effect by inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzymes (COX-1 and COX-2), leading to decreased synthesis of prostaglandins, which are mediators of inflammation and pain. Ketoplast Plaster is indicated for conditions such as acute sprains, strains, contusions, tendonitis, bursitis, and localized arthritis. The plaster adheres securely to the skin, allowing for sustained release of the active compound over an extended period, typically 12 to 24 hours, facilitating continuous anti-inflammatory and analgesic action.

It is generally well tolerated; however, local skin reactions such as erythema, itching, or rash may occur. Ketoplast Plaster should be applied to intact, clean, and dry skin, avoiding mucous membranes and open wounds. Use is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to Ketoprofen or other NSAIDs. Caution is advised in individuals with a history of asthma, gastrointestinal disorders, or renal impairment.
