Ketoplast Plaster contains Ketoprofen 20 mg as the active ingredient, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used for the topical treatment of musculoskeletal pain and inflammation. This medicated plaster is designed to provide targeted relief by delivering Ketoprofen directly to the affected area, thereby minimizing systemic exposure and reducing the risk of systemic side effects commonly associated with oral NSAIDs. Ketoprofen exerts its therapeutic effect by inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzymes (COX-1 and COX-2), leading to decreased synthesis of prostaglandins, which are mediators of inflammation and pain. Ketoplast Plaster is indicated for conditions such as acute sprains, strains, contusions, tendonitis, bursitis, and localized arthritis. The plaster adheres securely to the skin, allowing for sustained release of the active compound over an extended period, typically 12 to 24 hours, facilitating continuous anti-inflammatory and analgesic action. It is generally well tolerated; however, local skin reactions such as erythema, itching, or rash may occur.
