Keton Injection contains Ketorolac 30 mg, a potent nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) indicated for the short-term management of moderate to severe acute pain. Ketorolac exerts its analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects by inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX-1 and COX-2) enzymes, thereby reducing the synthesis of prostaglandins involved in pain and inflammation pathways. This injectable formulation is typically administered intramuscularly or intravenously for rapid onset of action, providing effective pain relief in postoperative settings, musculoskeletal injuries, and other acute pain conditions. Keton Injection is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to ketorolac or other NSAIDs, active peptic ulcer disease, recent gastrointestinal bleeding, severe renal impairment, or those at high risk of bleeding. Caution is advised in patients with cardiovascular disease, hepatic dysfunction, or asthma. The duration of therapy should not exceed 5 days to minimize the risk of adverse effects such as gastrointestinal ulceration, renal toxicity, and bleeding complications. Common side effects include gastrointestinal discomfort, headache, dizziness, and injection site reactions.
