Ketolac 10mg Tablet DT contains Ketorolac tromethamine, a potent nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) indicated for the short-term management of moderate to severe pain. Ketorolac exerts its analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects primarily through the inhibition of cyclooxygenase (COX-1 and COX-2) enzymes, leading to decreased synthesis of prostaglandins, which are mediators of inflammation and pain.

This formulation, as a dispersible tablet, allows for rapid dissolution and absorption, facilitating prompt onset of action. Ketolac 10mg Tablet DT is commonly used postoperatively or for acute musculoskeletal pain where opioid-sparing analgesia is desired. It is contraindicated in patients with active peptic ulcer disease, recent gastrointestinal bleeding, advanced renal impairment, or known hypersensitivity to NSAIDs.
Caution is advised in patients with cardiovascular risk factors, as prolonged use may increase the risk of thrombotic events. The recommended dosage should not exceed five days to minimize adverse effects such as gastrointestinal irritation, renal dysfunction, and bleeding tendencies. Ketolac should be administered with adequate hydration and under medical supervision, especially in elderly patients or those with comorbidities.
This medication is not intended for chronic pain management and should be used at the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration necessary.
