Ketorolac exerts its analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects by inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX-1 and COX-2) enzymes, leading to decreased prostaglandin synthesis, which reduces inflammation, pain, and fever. Ketofon Tablet DT should be used at the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration possible, typically not exceeding five days, to minimize the risk of adverse effects. Common side effects may include gastrointestinal discomfort, nausea, dizziness, and headache. Serious adverse reactions, though rare, can involve gastrointestinal bleeding, renal impairment, and hypersensitivity reactions.
Ketofon Tablet DT is contraindicated in patients with active peptic ulcer disease, recent gastrointestinal bleeding, severe renal or hepatic impairment, and known hypersensitivity to ketorolac or other NSAIDs.
