Ketorolac (10mg)
Active composition
Ketorolac inhibits cyclooxygenase enzymes, leading to decreased production of prostaglandins, which mediate pain and inflammation.
Medical applications
Ketanov 10mg Tablet contains Ketorolac tromethamine, a potent nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used for the short-term management of moderate to severe pain. Ketorolac exerts its analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and antipyretic effects primarily through the inhibition of cyclooxygenase (COX-1 and COX-2) enzymes, leading to decreased synthesis of prostaglandins, which are mediators of pain and inflammation. Ketanov is indicated for the relief of postoperative pain, musculoskeletal pain, and other acute pain conditions where opioid analgesics are not required or are contraindicated. The recommended dosage should be strictly adhered to, as prolonged use or high doses increase the risk of adverse effects, including gastrointestinal bleeding, renal impairment, and cardiovascular events. Ketanov is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to ketorolac or other NSAIDs, active peptic ulcer disease, recent gastrointestinal bleeding, severe renal or hepatic impairment, and during labor or delivery. Caution is advised in elderly patients and those with a history of cardiovascular disease or bleeding disorders. Concomitant use with other NSAIDs, anticoagulants, or corticosteroids should be avoided unless under medical supervision. Patients should be advised to report any signs of gastrointestinal discomfort, unusual bleeding, or allergic reactions promptly. Ketanov 10mg Tablet provides effective analgesia when used appropriately under medical guidance.
