Ketorolac (10mg)
Active composition
Ketorolac inhibits cyclooxygenase enzymes, leading to decreased production of prostaglandins, which mediate pain and inflammation.
Medical applications
Ketacure-DT Tablet contains Ketorolac 10 mg, a potent nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) indicated for the short-term management of moderate to severe pain. Ketorolac exerts its therapeutic effect by inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX-1 and COX-2) enzymes, thereby reducing the synthesis of prostaglandins, which are mediators of inflammation, pain, and fever. This tablet formulation is designed for rapid disintegration and absorption, facilitating prompt onset of analgesic action. Ketacure-DT is commonly prescribed postoperatively or for acute musculoskeletal pain where opioid alternatives are preferred to minimize dependency risks. It is contraindicated in patients with active peptic ulcer disease, recent gastrointestinal bleeding, severe renal impairment, or known hypersensitivity to ketorolac or other NSAIDs. Caution is advised in patients with cardiovascular disease, hypertension, or those on concomitant anticoagulant therapy due to increased bleeding risk. The recommended dosage should not exceed 40 mg per day, and treatment duration should be limited to a maximum of 5 days to reduce the risk of adverse effects such as gastrointestinal irritation, renal dysfunction, and increased cardiovascular events. Ketacure-DT should be administered under medical supervision with appropriate monitoring of renal function and gastrointestinal tolerance.
