Ketorolac (10mg)
Active composition
Ketorolac inhibits cyclooxygenase enzymes, leading to decreased production of prostaglandins, which mediate pain and inflammation.
Medical applications
Kerosite-DT Tablet contains Ketorolac 10 mg, a potent nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used for the short-term management of moderate to severe pain. Ketorolac exerts its effect by inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX-1 and COX-2) enzymes, thereby reducing the synthesis of prostaglandins, which are mediators of inflammation, pain, and fever. Kerosite-DT is indicated for the relief of acute musculoskeletal pain, postoperative pain, and dysmenorrhea. It is particularly effective in conditions where opioid analgesics are not preferred or contraindicated. The tablet formulation allows for convenient oral administration with rapid onset of action. Due to its potent analgesic properties, Kerosite-DT should be used at the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration necessary to minimize the risk of adverse effects such as gastrointestinal irritation, bleeding, renal impairment, and cardiovascular events. It is contraindicated in patients with active peptic ulcer disease, recent gastrointestinal bleeding, severe renal or hepatic impairment, and hypersensitivity to ketorolac or other NSAIDs. Caution is advised in elderly patients and those with a history of cardiovascular disease. Kerosite-DT should not be used concomitantly with other NSAIDs or anticoagulants unless directed by a healthcare professional.
