Clavulanic Acid is a beta-lactamase inhibitor that prevents enzymatic degradation of Amoxycillin by beta-lactamase-producing bacteria, thereby extending its antibacterial spectrum. This synergistic combination is effective against a wide range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative pathogens, including strains resistant to Amoxycillin alone.
