Kauris-CT 500 Injection contains Ceftriaxone 500 mg, a broad-spectrum third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic effective against a wide range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacterial infections. It acts by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to cell lysis and death. This injectable formulation is indicated for the treatment of severe or complicated infections such as lower respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, intra-abdominal infections, septicemia, bone and joint infections, and meningitis. Kauris-CT 500 is also used for surgical prophylaxis to prevent postoperative infections. The drug exhibits excellent penetration into body tissues and fluids, including cerebrospinal fluid, making it suitable for central nervous system infections. It is administered via intramuscular or intravenous injection, with dosage and duration tailored according to the severity and type of infection, as well as patient-specific factors such as age and renal function.
