Karrox-CV Dry Syrup Mango is a pediatric antibiotic formulation containing Amoxycillin 200 mg and Clavulanic Acid 28.5 mg per 5 ml reconstituted suspension. Amoxycillin, a broad-spectrum penicillin antibiotic, inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to bacterial cell death. Clavulanic Acid, a beta-lactamase inhibitor, protects Amoxycillin from enzymatic degradation by beta-lactamase-producing bacteria, thereby extending its spectrum of activity. This combination is effective against a wide range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative pathogens responsible for respiratory tract infections, otitis media, sinusitis, skin and soft tissue infections, and urinary tract infections in pediatric patients. Karrox-CV Dry Syrup Mango is indicated for use in children where oral antibiotic therapy is appropriate and provides a palatable mango-flavored formulation to enhance compliance. The dosing regimen should be determined based on the severity of infection and patient weight, as per physician’s guidance. It is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to penicillins or beta-lactamase inhibitors. Caution is advised in patients with hepatic impairment. Common adverse effects may include gastrointestinal disturbances such as diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting.
