Kanaxone 1GM Injection contains Ceftriaxone 1000mg, a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic with broad-spectrum bactericidal activity. It is indicated for the treatment of a wide range of bacterial infections including lower respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, intra-abdominal infections, septicemia, bone and joint infections, and meningitis caused by susceptible organisms. Ceftriaxone exerts its antibacterial effect by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to cell lysis and death. Kanaxone 1GM Injection is administered via intramuscular or intravenous routes, allowing for rapid systemic distribution and high serum concentrations. The drug exhibits excellent penetration into various tissues and body fluids, including cerebrospinal fluid, making it effective in central nervous system infections. It is generally well tolerated; however, hypersensitivity reactions, gastrointestinal disturbances, and local injection site reactions may occur. Dosage and duration of therapy should be guided by the severity of infection, patient condition, and microbial susceptibility.
