Juslina 5mg Tablet contains Linagliptin, a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor indicated for the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Linagliptin works by enhancing the incretin system, which increases insulin secretion and decreases glucagon release in a glucose-dependent manner, thereby improving glycemic control. Juslina is prescribed as monotherapy or in combination with other antidiabetic agents such as metformin, sulfonylureas, or insulin when diet and exercise alone do not provide adequate glycemic control.

The recommended dose is 5 mg once daily, administered orally with or without food. Juslina is particularly advantageous due to its minimal renal excretion, allowing use in patients with varying degrees of renal impairment without dose adjustment. Common adverse effects may include nasopharyngitis, headache, and upper respiratory tract infections, with a low risk of hypoglycemia when used as monotherapy.
Caution is advised when combined with sulfonylureas or insulin due to increased hypoglycemia risk. Linagliptin is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to the active substance or any excipients. Regular monitoring of blood glucose levels and renal function is recommended during therapy. Juslina 5mg Tablet offers an effective and well-tolerated option for glycemic management in type 2 diabetes.
