This synergistic combination enhances the antibacterial spectrum by inhibiting beta-lactamase enzymes produced by resistant bacteria, thereby restoring the efficacy of Cefuroxime against beta-lactamase-producing strains. Jupicef is indicated for the treatment of a variety of bacterial infections including respiratory tract infections (such as bronchitis and pneumonia), urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, otitis media, and sinusitis caused by susceptible organisms. The drug exhibits bactericidal activity by interfering with bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to cell lysis and death. Clavulanic Acid protects Cefuroxime from enzymatic degradation, ensuring sustained therapeutic levels. Jupicef should be administered as prescribed by a healthcare professional, with dosage adjusted according to the severity of infection, renal function, and patient age.
