Joypride is effective in managing both positive symptoms (e.g., hallucinations, delusions) and negative symptoms (e.g., social withdrawal, lack of motivation) associated with schizophrenia. It is generally well-tolerated, but patients should be monitored for potential side effects including extrapyramidal symptoms, hyperprolactinemia, sedation, and gastrointestinal disturbances.
Caution is advised in patients with a history of cardiac disorders, as amisulpride may prolong the QT interval. Dose adjustments may be necessary in renal impairment. Joypride should be used under strict medical supervision, with regular follow-up to assess therapeutic response and adverse effects.
