Janpra-D Tablet is a combination analgesic and anti-inflammatory medication containing Diclofenac 50 mg and Paracetamol 325 mg. Diclofenac, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), exerts its therapeutic effect by inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzymes (COX-1 and COX-2), thereby reducing the synthesis of prostaglandins responsible for pain, inflammation, and fever. Paracetamol, an analgesic and antipyretic agent, acts centrally to alleviate pain and reduce fever through inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis in the central nervous system. Janpra-D is indicated for the management of mild to moderate pain associated with musculoskeletal disorders, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, dental pain, postoperative pain, and dysmenorrhea. The combination provides enhanced analgesic efficacy by targeting multiple pain pathways while minimizing the dose-related adverse effects of each component when used alone. It is generally well-tolerated; however, caution is advised in patients with hepatic or renal impairment, gastrointestinal ulcers, or a history of hypersensitivity to NSAIDs or paracetamol. Common adverse effects may include gastrointestinal discomfort, nausea, dizziness, and rarely, hepatotoxicity or allergic reactions. Janpra-D should be used under medical supervision with adherence to recommended dosages to ensure safety and efficacy.
