Jankey 50mg Tablet contains Sitagliptin 50mg, an oral antihyperglycemic agent used in the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Sitagliptin belongs to the class of dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitors, which work by enhancing the levels of incretin hormones. These hormones increase insulin synthesis and release from pancreatic beta cells and decrease glucagon secretion from alpha cells, thereby improving glycemic control.

Jankey 50mg is indicated as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes, either as monotherapy when metformin is inappropriate or in combination with other antidiabetic agents such as metformin, sulfonylureas, or insulin. The tablet should be taken orally, with or without food, once daily. Dose adjustments may be necessary in patients with renal impairment.
Common adverse effects include nasopharyngitis, headache, and upper respiratory tract infections, while hypoglycemia risk increases when combined with sulfonylureas or insulin. Jankey 50mg is contraindicated in patients with type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis. Regular monitoring of blood glucose and renal function is recommended during therapy to ensure optimal efficacy and safety.
