Cefpodoxime Proxetil, a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic, exhibits broad-spectrum bactericidal activity by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, thereby effectively treating a variety of bacterial infections. Clavulanic Acid, a beta-lactamase inhibitor, enhances the efficacy of cefpodoxime by preventing enzymatic degradation of the antibiotic by beta-lactamase-producing bacteria, thus extending its spectrum of activity against resistant strains. This combination is indicated for the treatment of respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, otitis media, and other susceptible bacterial infections. Jagpod CV is effective against both gram-positive and gram-negative pathogens, including beta-lactamase-producing strains.
