Ixorib-MR Tablet is a combination medication containing Etoricoxib 60 mg and Thiocolchicoside 4 mg, formulated for the management of musculoskeletal pain and inflammation associated with conditions such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and acute musculoskeletal disorders. Etoricoxib, a selective cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) inhibitor, provides effective analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects by selectively inhibiting the COX-2 enzyme, thereby reducing prostaglandin synthesis responsible for pain and inflammation.

Thiocolchicoside is a muscle relaxant with anti-inflammatory properties that acts by antagonizing glycine and GABA receptors, leading to relief from muscle spasms and stiffness. The combination of these two agents offers synergistic benefits, addressing both pain and muscle spasm components commonly seen in musculoskeletal conditions. Ixorib-MR is indicated for short-term use in patients requiring rapid symptomatic relief.
It should be used under medical supervision, especially in patients with a history of cardiovascular disease, gastrointestinal disorders, or hepatic and renal impairment. Common adverse effects may include gastrointestinal discomfort, dizziness, and headache. Contraindications include hypersensitivity to either component, active peptic ulcer, and severe hepatic or renal dysfunction.
