Ivasis 5 Tablet contains Ivabradine 5 mg, a selective sinus node inhibitor used primarily for the treatment of chronic stable angina pectoris and heart failure. Ivabradine acts by specifically inhibiting the If current in the sinoatrial node, leading to a reduction in heart rate without affecting myocardial contractility or intracardiac conduction. This mechanism helps decrease myocardial oxygen demand, thereby alleviating angina symptoms and improving exercise tolerance. Ivasis 5 is indicated for patients with stable angina who are in sinus rhythm with a resting heart rate of at least 70 beats per minute and who are either intolerant to or inadequately controlled by beta-blockers. Additionally, it is prescribed in certain cases of chronic heart failure with reduced ejection fraction to reduce the risk of hospitalization and cardiovascular death. The usual dosage is one tablet twice daily, taken orally with meals, but dosing should be individualized based on heart rate response and clinical condition. Common adverse effects include bradycardia, luminous phenomena (phosphenes), and headache. Ivasis 5 should be used cautiously in patients with conduction abnormalities, hypotension, or hepatic impairment and is contraindicated in acute decompensated heart failure, severe hypotension, and sick sinus syndrome. Regular monitoring of heart rate and rhythm is recommended during therapy.
