This mechanism helps decrease myocardial oxygen demand, thereby alleviating symptoms of angina and improving exercise tolerance. Ivaford is indicated in patients with stable angina who are in sinus rhythm and have a contraindication or intolerance to beta-blockers or as an adjunct to beta-blocker therapy when heart rate control is inadequate. Additionally, it is prescribed for patients with chronic heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) who remain symptomatic despite optimal standard therapy, including beta-blockers, to reduce the risk of hospitalization.
