Ivables 5 Tablet contains Ivabradine 5mg, a selective inhibitor of the cardiac pacemaker If current, used primarily for the management of chronic stable angina pectoris and heart failure. Ivabradine acts by reducing the heart rate without affecting myocardial contractility or intracardiac conduction, thereby decreasing myocardial oxygen demand and improving exercise tolerance in patients with angina.

It is indicated for patients with stable angina who are in sinus rhythm and have a resting heart rate of at least 70 beats per minute, particularly when beta-blockers are contraindicated or insufficient. Additionally, Ivabradine is prescribed for symptomatic chronic heart failure with reduced ejection fraction in patients with a heart rate above 70 bpm despite optimal standard therapy.
The usual dosage is one tablet twice daily, adjusted according to heart rate and clinical response, with careful monitoring to avoid bradycardia. Common adverse effects include luminous phenomena (phosphenes), bradycardia, and headache. Ivabradine is contraindicated in patients with acute decompensated heart failure, severe hypotension, sick sinus syndrome, sinoatrial block, or severe hepatic impairment.
It should be used cautiously with other heart rate-lowering agents. Ivables 5 Tablet should be prescribed and administered under medical supervision to ensure optimal therapeutic outcomes.
