Itonik-OZ Cream is a topical formulation combining Ofloxacin (0.75% w/w), Ornidazole (2.0% w/w), Itraconazole (1.0% w/w), and Clobetasol (0.05% w/w), designed for the treatment of mixed bacterial, protozoal, and fungal skin infections accompanied by inflammatory conditions. Ofloxacin, a fluoroquinolone antibiotic, exhibits broad-spectrum activity against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria by inhibiting DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, thereby preventing bacterial replication.

Ornidazole, a nitroimidazole derivative, is effective against anaerobic protozoa and bacteria through DNA strand breakage and inhibition of nucleic acid synthesis. Itraconazole, a triazole antifungal agent, impedes ergosterol synthesis, disrupting fungal cell membrane integrity and function. Clobetasol propionate, a potent corticosteroid, provides anti-inflammatory, anti-pruritic, and vasoconstrictive effects, reducing erythema, edema, and discomfort associated with dermatological conditions.
The synergistic combination targets polymicrobial infections and associated inflammation, promoting rapid symptom relief and lesion resolution. Itonik-OZ Cream is indicated for dermatophytosis, candidiasis, bacterial superinfections, and protozoal skin infections where inflammation is prominent. It should be used under medical supervision, avoiding prolonged application to prevent corticosteroid-related adverse effects such as skin atrophy, telangiectasia, and systemic absorption.
Contraindications include hypersensitivity to any component and viral skin infections. Proper hygiene and adherence to prescribed duration optimize therapeutic outcomes.
