Isordil 5 is indicated for patients experiencing episodes of chest pain and is also used prophylactically to prevent angina in situations known to precipitate attacks. The tablet should be placed under the tongue and allowed to dissolve completely without swallowing to ensure optimal bioavailability. Common side effects include headache, dizziness, hypotension, and flushing, which are generally dose-related and transient.
Caution is advised in patients with hypotension, severe anemia, or increased intracranial pressure. Concomitant use with phosphodiesterase inhibitors is contraindicated due to the risk of severe hypotension. Patients should be advised to avoid abrupt discontinuation to prevent rebound angina. How to use Isordil Sublingual tablet Place the tablet under the tongue or between the cheek and gum, and let it dissolve. Do not chew, crush, or swallow the tablet. Isordil 5 Sublingual tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
