Ofloxacin acts by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, enzymes essential for DNA replication and transcription, thereby exerting bactericidal effects. This combination is indicated for the treatment of mixed infections caused by susceptible strains, including respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and sexually transmitted infections.
