Intagesic-MR Tablet is a combination analgesic and muscle relaxant formulation containing Chlorzoxazone 250 mg, Diclofenac 50 mg, and Paracetamol 325 mg. This medication is indicated for the relief of musculoskeletal pain associated with muscle spasms, strains, sprains, and other inflammatory conditions. Chlorzoxazone acts centrally to relax skeletal muscles by depressing the reflexes at the spinal cord level, thereby alleviating muscle stiffness and discomfort. Diclofenac, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), provides potent anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antipyretic effects by inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzymes, reducing prostaglandin synthesis involved in pain and inflammation. Paracetamol contributes additional analgesic and antipyretic benefits through central inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis. The synergistic action of these three agents offers effective management of acute musculoskeletal pain with inflammation and muscle spasm. Intagesic-MR should be used under medical supervision, considering contraindications such as hypersensitivity to any component, active gastrointestinal ulcers, hepatic or renal impairment, and cardiovascular risks associated with NSAIDs. Patients should adhere to prescribed dosages to minimize adverse effects, which may include gastrointestinal discomfort, dizziness, or allergic reactions.
