Intacoxia 90 Tablet contains Etoricoxib 90 mg, a selective cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) inhibitor used primarily for the management of pain and inflammation associated with various musculoskeletal and joint disorders. Etoricoxib exerts its therapeutic effects by selectively inhibiting the COX-2 enzyme, thereby reducing the synthesis of prostaglandins responsible for pain and inflammation, while sparing COX-1, which helps maintain gastrointestinal mucosal integrity. This selective action results in effective analgesic and anti-inflammatory benefits with a potentially lower risk of gastrointestinal adverse effects compared to non-selective nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Intacoxia 90 is indicated for the treatment of osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and acute gouty arthritis. It is also used for the relief of moderate pain, including postoperative pain.
