Insugen-N 100IU/ml Injection contains Insulin Isophane, a human insulin analogue formulated to provide intermediate-acting glycemic control in patients with diabetes mellitus. This preparation is designed to mimic the basal insulin secretion, offering a prolonged duration of action that helps maintain blood glucose levels between meals and overnight. Insulin Isophane acts by facilitating cellular glucose uptake, primarily in muscle and adipose tissue, and inhibiting hepatic glucose production, thereby reducing hyperglycemia.

Administered subcutaneously, Insugen-N typically begins to exert its effect within 1 to 2 hours post-injection, reaching peak activity between 4 to 12 hours, and sustaining glucose-lowering effects for up to 24 hours. It is indicated for the management of both type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus when diet, exercise, and oral hypoglycemic agents alone do not provide adequate glycemic control.
Dosage and administration should be individualized based on patient’s metabolic needs, blood glucose monitoring, and glycemic targets. Caution is advised to avoid hypoglycemia, and patients should be educated on recognizing and managing low blood sugar episodes. Insugen-N should be stored under recommended conditions, and proper injection technique must be followed to ensure optimal therapeutic outcomes.
