Inogla-M 500 Tablet ER is a combination oral antidiabetic medication containing Metformin 500 mg and Teneligliptin 20 mg, designed for the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Metformin, a biguanide, primarily acts by decreasing hepatic glucose production, enhancing insulin sensitivity, and improving peripheral glucose uptake and utilization. Teneligliptin, a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor, increases incretin levels, thereby stimulating insulin secretion and suppressing glucagon release in a glucose-dependent manner.

The extended-release formulation of Inogla-M 500 facilitates sustained plasma drug concentrations, promoting better glycemic control with reduced dosing frequency and improved patient compliance. This combination therapy is indicated for patients inadequately controlled on metformin alone or those requiring dual therapy to achieve target glycemic levels. It is essential to monitor renal function prior to and during treatment, as metformin is contraindicated in patients with significant renal impairment.
Common adverse effects include gastrointestinal disturbances such as nausea, diarrhea, and abdominal discomfort, which are generally transient.
