Inmecin P 25mg/325mg Capsule is a combination pharmaceutical formulation containing Indomethacin 25mg and Paracetamol 325mg, indicated for the management of moderate to severe pain and inflammation associated with musculoskeletal disorders, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and other inflammatory conditions. Indomethacin, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), exerts its therapeutic effect by inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX-1 and COX-2) enzymes, thereby reducing the synthesis of prostaglandins responsible for pain, fever, and inflammation.

Paracetamol, an analgesic and antipyretic agent, complements this action by inhibiting central prostaglandin synthesis, providing effective pain relief and fever reduction without significant anti-inflammatory activity. The combination enhances analgesic efficacy while potentially allowing for lower doses of each component, minimizing adverse effects. Inmecin P is indicated for conditions requiring both anti-inflammatory and analgesic therapy.
It should be used with caution in patients with a history of gastrointestinal ulcers, renal or hepatic impairment, and cardiovascular disease. Common adverse effects include gastrointestinal discomfort, nausea, dizziness, and hypersensitivity reactions. The medication should be administered under medical supervision, adhering to prescribed dosages to avoid toxicity. Contraindications include hypersensitivity to NSAIDs or paracetamol and concurrent use with other NSAIDs.
