Infimox-CV Oral Suspension is a combination antibiotic formulation containing Amoxycillin 200 mg and Clavulanic Acid 28.5 mg per 5 ml, designed to treat a broad spectrum of bacterial infections. Amoxycillin, a beta-lactam antibiotic, inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to cell lysis and death. Clavulanic Acid acts as a beta-lactamase inhibitor, preventing enzymatic degradation of amoxycillin by beta-lactamase-producing bacteria, thereby extending its antimicrobial spectrum. This synergistic combination is effective against various infections including respiratory tract infections, otitis media, sinusitis, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and dental infections caused by susceptible strains. Infimox-CV Oral Suspension is indicated for pediatric and adult patients who require oral antibiotic therapy but have difficulty swallowing tablets. The suspension should be administered as prescribed, with dosage adjusted according to the severity of infection and patient weight. It is essential to complete the full course of therapy to prevent resistance development. Common adverse effects may include gastrointestinal disturbances such as diarrhea, nausea, and rash. Caution is advised in patients with a history of penicillin allergy or hepatic impairment.
