Indosom 25 Capsule contains Indomethacin 25 mg, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used primarily for its potent anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antipyretic properties. Indomethacin exerts its therapeutic effects by inhibiting the cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, leading to a reduction in the synthesis of prostaglandins, which are mediators of inflammation, pain, and fever. Indosom 25 is indicated for the management of various inflammatory conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, gouty arthritis, and acute musculoskeletal injuries. It is also employed in the treatment of moderate to severe pain and inflammation associated with postoperative states or other painful conditions. The recommended dosage should be individualized based on the severity of the condition and patient response, with caution advised in patients with gastrointestinal, renal, or cardiovascular disorders due to potential adverse effects including gastrointestinal irritation, ulceration, bleeding, renal impairment, and increased cardiovascular risk.
