Indclav 625 Tablet is a combination antibiotic formulation containing Amoxycillin 500 mg and Clavulanic Acid 125 mg, designed to treat a wide range of bacterial infections. Amoxycillin, a beta-lactam antibiotic, inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to bacterial cell death. Clavulanic Acid acts as a beta-lactamase inhibitor, preventing the enzymatic degradation of amoxycillin by beta-lactamase-producing bacteria, thereby extending its spectrum of activity. Indclav 625 is indicated for the treatment of infections caused by susceptible strains of bacteria, including respiratory tract infections such as sinusitis, bronchitis, and pneumonia; urinary tract infections; skin and soft tissue infections; and otitis media. It is particularly useful in infections where beta-lactamase-producing organisms are suspected or confirmed. The tablet should be administered orally, preferably at the start of a meal to enhance absorption and reduce gastrointestinal discomfort. Dosage and duration of therapy should be determined based on the severity and type of infection, patient age, renal function, and clinical response. Common adverse effects may include gastrointestinal disturbances such as nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. Hypersensitivity reactions, though rare, require immediate medical attention. Indclav 625 should be used with caution in patients with a history of penicillin allergy or hepatic impairment.
