Imeglyn 500 Tablet contains Imeglimin 500 mg, an oral antihyperglycemic agent indicated for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Imeglimin is a novel tetrahydrotriazine compound that improves glycemic control by targeting mitochondrial bioenergetics, thereby enhancing insulin sensitivity and promoting glucose-dependent insulin secretion. It acts through a dual mechanism involving the restoration of mitochondrial function and reduction of oxidative stress, leading to improved pancreatic β-cell function and decreased hepatic glucose production.

Imeglyn 500 is typically prescribed as monotherapy or in combination with other antidiabetic agents, including metformin, sulfonylureas, or DPP-4 inhibitors, to achieve optimal glycemic control.
