Imdur 30mg is indicated for the prophylaxis of angina attacks rather than for the relief of acute angina episodes. It is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to nitrates, severe anemia, increased intracranial pressure, or those who are concurrently using phosphodiesterase inhibitors such as sildenafil. Common adverse effects may include headache, dizziness, hypotension, and flushing.
Caution is advised in patients with hypotension, volume depletion, or severe hepatic or renal impairment. The medication should be administered as prescribed, and abrupt discontinuation should be avoided to prevent exacerbation of angina symptoms. Regular monitoring of blood pressure and clinical response is recommended to optimize therapy.
