Ihd SR 30 OD Tablet contains Isosorbide Mononitrate 30 mg, a nitrate medication primarily used for the prevention and management of angina pectoris due to coronary artery disease. Isosorbide Mononitrate acts as a vasodilator by relaxing vascular smooth muscle, leading to the dilation of peripheral veins and arteries. This reduces myocardial oxygen demand by decreasing preload and afterload, thereby alleviating chest pain associated with ischemic heart conditions. The sustained-release (SR) formulation ensures a prolonged therapeutic effect, allowing once-daily dosing which improves patient compliance. Ihd SR 30 OD is indicated for the prophylactic treatment of stable angina pectoris and may be used in combination with other antianginal agents. It is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to nitrates, severe anemia, increased intracranial pressure, or concurrent use of phosphodiesterase inhibitors such as sildenafil.
