Ciprofloxacin acts by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, thereby preventing bacterial replication and effectively treating susceptible bacterial infections. Dexamethasone provides anti-inflammatory effects by suppressing the release of inflammatory mediators and reducing tissue edema, redness, and discomfort associated with ocular or otic inflammation. Igcip-D is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections of the eye and ear where inflammation is present, such as conjunctivitis, keratitis, blepharitis, otitis externa, and otitis media with tympanic membrane perforation. The combination therapy targets both infection and inflammation, promoting faster resolution of symptoms and preventing complications. Administration should follow aseptic techniques to avoid contamination. Use is contraindicated in viral, fungal, or mycobacterial infections and in patients with hypersensitivity to ciprofloxacin, dexamethasone, or any component of the formulation.
