Hyponat-O 15 Tablet contains Tolvaptan 15 mg, a selective vasopressin V2-receptor antagonist indicated for the treatment of clinically significant hypervolemic and euvolemic hyponatremia, including conditions such as congestive heart failure, cirrhosis, and the syndrome of inappropriate antidiuretic hormone secretion (SIADH). Tolvaptan acts by promoting aquaresis, the excretion of free water without electrolyte loss, thereby correcting serum sodium levels while minimizing the risk of volume depletion. The medication is administered orally and should be initiated under close medical supervision with regular monitoring of serum sodium to avoid overly rapid correction, which may lead to osmotic demyelination syndrome. Hyponat-O 15 Tablet is contraindicated in patients with hypovolemic hyponatremia, anuria, or hypersensitivity to Tolvaptan. Caution is advised in patients with liver impairment, and periodic liver function tests are recommended during prolonged therapy. Common adverse effects include thirst, dry mouth, polyuria, and increased urination frequency.
