Human Mixtard 30 Suspension for Injection 100IU/ml is a premixed insulin formulation containing 70% Insulin Isophane (NPH insulin) and 30% soluble Human Insulin, designed for the management of diabetes mellitus requiring insulin therapy. This biphasic insulin suspension provides both intermediate-acting and short-acting insulin components, enabling improved glycemic control by addressing both basal and prandial insulin requirements.

The intermediate-acting Insulin Isophane component facilitates sustained insulin release, helping to regulate blood glucose levels between meals and overnight, while the soluble Human Insulin component acts rapidly to control postprandial glucose excursions. Human Mixtard 30 is indicated for adult and pediatric patients with type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus when diet, exercise, and oral hypoglycemic agents alone are insufficient to achieve adequate glycemic control.
The suspension should be administered subcutaneously, with dosage individualized based on patient-specific factors such as blood glucose monitoring results, lifestyle, and metabolic needs. Proper resuspension of the suspension by gentle rolling or inversion prior to injection is essential to ensure uniform dosing. As with all insulin products, patients should be monitored regularly for hypoglycemia, allergic reactions, and other adverse effects.
This product should be stored under refrigeration and protected from freezing to maintain potency.
