The Kwikpen device provides a convenient, prefilled, and portable delivery system, allowing precise dosing with a maximum dose of 80 units per injection, suitable for patients with high insulin requirements. Humalog 200IU/ml Kwikpen is indicated for adults and pediatric patients with type 1 or type 2 diabetes mellitus who require rapid-acting insulin to improve glycemic control.
It should be administered subcutaneously within 15 minutes before or immediately after meals to optimize postprandial glucose regulation. Dose adjustments should be individualized based on blood glucose monitoring, carbohydrate intake, and physical activity. Caution is advised to avoid hypoglycemia, the most common adverse effect. Proper injection technique and rotation of injection sites are recommended to minimize lipodystrophy.
This formulation offers a more concentrated insulin option, reducing injection volume for patients with high insulin demands.
