Hopace-H 5 Capsule is a combination antihypertensive medication containing Ramipril 5 mg and Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg. Ramipril, an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor, works by inhibiting the conversion of angiotensin I to angiotensin II, leading to vasodilation, reduced aldosterone secretion, and decreased blood pressure. Hydrochlorothiazide, a thiazide diuretic, promotes the excretion of sodium and water by inhibiting sodium reabsorption in the distal convoluted tubules of the kidneys, thereby reducing blood volume and peripheral resistance.

The synergistic action of these two agents effectively lowers blood pressure in patients with essential hypertension, reducing the risk of cardiovascular events such as stroke and myocardial infarction. Hopace-H 5 Capsule is indicated for the management of hypertension in patients who require combination therapy to achieve optimal blood pressure control. It may also be used in cases where monotherapy with either agent is insufficient.
Caution is advised in patients with renal impairment, electrolyte imbalances, or hypersensitivity to sulfonamides or ACE inhibitors. Regular monitoring of blood pressure, renal function, and electrolytes is recommended during therapy. This medication should be used under medical supervision, adhering to prescribed dosages to minimize adverse effects such as hypotension, hyperkalemia, and electrolyte disturbances.
