Hopace-H 5 Capsule is a combination antihypertensive medication containing Ramipril 5 mg and Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg. Ramipril, an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor, works by inhibiting the conversion of angiotensin I to angiotensin II, leading to vasodilation, reduced aldosterone secretion, and decreased blood pressure. Hydrochlorothiazide, a thiazide diuretic, promotes the excretion of sodium and water by inhibiting sodium reabsorption in the distal convoluted tubules of the kidneys, thereby reducing blood volume and peripheral resistance. The synergistic action of these two agents effectively lowers blood pressure in patients with essential hypertension, reducing the risk of cardiovascular events such as stroke and myocardial infarction.
