It is indicated for the treatment of respiratory tract infections such as bronchitis and pneumonia, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, septicemia, bone and joint infections, and Lyme disease. Hipcef 500 is administered orally and is well absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract, achieving therapeutic concentrations in various body tissues and fluids. The dosage and duration of therapy depend on the severity and type of infection, as well as patient-specific factors including renal function. Common adverse effects include gastrointestinal disturbances such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and hypersensitivity reactions like rash and pruritus.
